Jumbangla Desk: The publication of Bangladesh Chhatra League's statement, which is prohibited under the Anti-Terrorism Act, is also now prohibited. Under the authority given in Section 18(1) of the Anti-Terrorism Act 2009, the Ministry of Home Affairs has banned Chhatra League, the fraternal organization of Awami League, last Wednesday night.
According to Section 20(1) of the Anti-Terrorism Act 2009 (Act No. 16 of 2009), the Government shall take action against listed persons or prohibited entities. According to the Act, the government shall prohibit the publication, printing or dissemination of press statements of listed persons or prohibited entities under Article 20-1-e.
Section 20-1 regarding taking action against listed persons or prohibited entities provides that if any person is listed or any entity is prohibited under the provisions of section 18, the Government, in addition to taking other measures mentioned in this Act, may, as applicable, take any of the following will take action.
