Bangladesh's first Test against South Africa ended with a huge 7-wicket loss. The batting failure of Bangladesh's first innings of 106 runs was the basis of the big loss. In the second innings, Mehdi Hasan Miraj and Zaker Ali Anik gave a record pairing but could not change the fate of the match.

Mirpur started this match in a record atmosphere. Kagijo Rabada completed 300 wickets with the fewest balls in Test cricket. That is the event of the first day. Where he dismissed Mushfiqur Rahim, the highest run scorer in Bangladesh cricket.

At the end of the Mirpur Test, the Bangladesh Cricket Board awarded three stars to all of them. On behalf of BCB, board director Nazmul Abedin Fahim presented the memento to Kagijo Rabada. Current selector and former offspinner Abdur Razzak Raj handed over the crest to Taijul Islam.
