Jumbangla Desk: The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) reported the arrest of two members of the banned militant organization Hizbut Tahrir from Turag area of the capital.

DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Talebur Rahman confirmed the matter and said that the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit arrested them. However, Talebur Rahman did not give any details about the arrested.
In 2001, Hizb ut Tahrir started operations in Bangladesh. It was headed by a teacher of IBA in Dhaka University.
On October 22, 2009, the Awami League government issued a press note and declared the organization banned.
The organization, which has been conducting organizational activities secretly for a long time, came into discussion again after the fall of the Awami League government on August 5.
Imtiaz Salim, media coordinator of the organization, who was arrested earlier this month, claimed that they also took part in the movement to topple the government.
