Jumbangla Desk: Co-chairman of Jatiya Party and former mayor of Rangpur City Corporation, Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa, called for vigilance so that anarchists do not take advantage of the arrival of anti-discrimination student movement coordinators Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah in Rangpur.

He made this call while talking to reporters at the party office on Central Road in Rangpur city on Friday (October 25) evening.

At the time, Mustafa said, 'I have no personal relationship with Sarjis and Hasnat Abdullah, nor any conflict. The announcement made earlier not to allow those two to enter Rangpur was a party announcement. I have made this announcement as the spokesperson of various levels of leaders and activists because of their stand against the party. Now ignoring our announcement they will come to Rangpur. We are getting hints of a deeper conspiracy here. It is true that they announced to come to Rangpur but it is under the umbrella of the police.'

He said, 'The Inspector General of Police (IGP) will come to Rangpur on Saturday (October 26). The police of the entire district will be in the program of the IGP. At this time, the chairman of the party has ordered that no anarchist can take the opportunity to create chaos under the banner of the Jatiya Party. We are told to be vigilant. That is why we will carry out our constructive program. However, Jatiya Party has the organizational strength and capacity to deal with any situation.

Mustafa said, since the party chairman has given instructions, we will be limited in our program by respecting him. But if that program is interrupted then a standoff will be created. If Sarjis and Hasnat Abdullah have any public program or gathering, then a face-to-face position will be created. Then there is the matter of identity of strength. Before that we are not trying to water the desert like that. We will do our constructive programs that need to be done. The activists are alert. Meanwhile, the Jatiya Party leader also announced the protest program from 11 o'clock on Saturday.

In response to a question from journalists, Mustafizar Rahman said, 'There is a law in the country about who will get police protection and who will move with police protection. Although Sarjis and Hasnat are not qualified persons to get police security , I think their arrival in Rangpur by tagging along with the IGP is purposeful.

Members of Jatiya Party Presidium and Rangpur Metropolitan General Secretary SM Yasir, Jatiya Party Vice Chairman and Rangpur District Jatiya Party Member Secretary Haji Abdur Razzak, Rangpur District Jatiya Yuba Saghati President Hasanuzzaman Nazim were present at various levels.

Later, a protest procession came out from the party office and circled various roads. At this time, activists raised various slogans against Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah.

Incidentally, Police IGP Moinul Islam will visit Rangpur on Saturday (October 26). Anti-discrimination student movement coordinator Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah are scheduled to go to Rangpur on the same day.

Earlier, the two coordinators protested with a status on social media Facebook for not calling the National Party in the dialogue of the political parties with the Chief Advisor. In this incident, Mustafa declared those two coordinators unwanted in Rangpur from the joint committee of Jatiya Party in Rangpur. Anti-discrimination student movement and Jatiya Party's counter-demonstration program was held on this.
