Jumbangla Desk: In order to protect and establish the spirit of mass uprising of the students, a new platform called 'Gan-Avyutthan Raksha Andolan' has been formed by the initiative of the coordinator and students who resigned from the anti-discrimination student movement in Jahangirnagar University (JAB).

Students announced the new platform at a press conference held at the university's Student-Teacher Center (TSC) conference room on Monday (October 21) at 4 pm.

Abdur Rashid Jitu, a student of the University's Institute of Comparative Literature and Culture, has been made the convener and Fahmida Faiza, a student of the Department of Government and Politics, has been made the member secretary of the committee of this platform. Apart from this, Imran Shahriar, a student of Marketing Department, and Rudra Mohammad Safiullah of International Relations Department will serve as the spokesperson in the committee.

In a written speech at the press conference, Imran Shahriar, the spokesperson of the People's Uprising Defense Movement, said, "We have achieved our desired second freedom through bloody struggle. The dream of a new Bangladesh has awakened in the hearts of the entire nation through the mass uprising. Where there will be no fascist power, discrimination and oppression. There will be assurance of justice, security of life and livelihood. Besides, the universities will be safe and suitable for higher education.

Imran Shahriar also said that currently, we can see that the interim government is not able to nurture the spirit of mass uprising. This crisis is caused by both internal and external stakeholders of the government. The allies of fascism from within and without are preventing the government from promoting the spirit of this mass upheaval. Besides, lack of goodwill and negligence of the government in various matters has increased this crisis. Fascist power is being rehabilitated in it. The security of life and livelihood of people in new Bangladesh is decreasing day by day. The constitutional-institutional reforms that we expected are showing long delays.

Abdur Rashid Jitu, the convener of the movement to protect the mass uprising, said that it was created urgently to protect and establish the spirit of the mass uprising. The students of Jahangirnagar University of different views and paths are working separately to achieve the same goal. Therefore, collective efforts are necessary for greater change . In view of that, we have come together in the name of 'Gana-Avyutthan Raksha Andolan' to preserve and establish the spirit of the July Uprising. We will support the interim government with all our might and at the same time pull its reins.
