A total of 44 members including SI, ASI, constable were killed there. "We have noticed that some news outlets and some individuals are deliberately spreading false and incorrect information about the number of policemen killed in the July-August student-led uprising," the message said. The police department meticulously maintains a list of officers or constables who are injured or killed in protest or violence. If anyone claims that there have been police deaths outside of this list in the uprising, evidence is called for.
