Jumbangla Desk: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka Metropolitan South Amir Md. Nurul Islam Bulbul and Dhaka Metropolitan North Amir Mohammad Salim Uddin have been re-elected for the next 2025-26 session. They were elected by direct vote of members (RUCON) in the recently held separate conference.
Eight thousand voters cast their votes in Dhaka Metropolitan South Emir election for the 2025-2026 session at the conference held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center on October 18. Male and female members vote by direct and secret ballot. Similarly, on October 13, 10,000 voters voted for the election of Dhaka Metropolitan North Emir at the same conference. It is known that all types of elections of Jamaat are held in a democratic manner. The person with the highest number of votes is elected. According to the organization's constitution, there is no candidate for the leadership election. Any aspirant shall be considered ineligible.
Amir Md. Nurul Islam Bulbul of Dhaka Metropolitan South was the Central President of Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir in 1998-2000. After his student life, he served as a registrar in a private university. He also served as the secretary of the undivided Dhaka metropolis. In the last session, he served as Central Executive Council Member and Amir of Dhaka Metropolitan South.
Amir Mohammad Salim Uddin of Dhaka Metropolitan North was the Central President of Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir in 2004-2005. After completing his student life, he played a role as one of the founders of Digant Television and served as Deputy Executive Director. He served as Amir of Ramna Thana from 2008-2011, Assistant Secretary of Undivided Dhaka City from 2012-2016, Member of Central Executive Council from 2017-2024 and Amir of Dhaka Metropolitan North.
