The train left Rajshahi Railway Station for Dhaka at 11:40 on Saturday (October 26).
The railway department said that this special train started its journey from Rahanpur in Chapainawabganj to Dhaka at 9:45 am on Saturday. Reached Rajshahi railway station at 11:00. This special train was forced to run empty as there were no vegetable or agricultural products to be transported at 5 stations from the starting station to Rajshahi.
AKM Nurul Alam, assistant commercial officer of Pakshi Railway, said, 'This train will be able to carry 120 tons of goods every day. Per kg of vegetables and agricultural produce will cost 1 30 paisa from Rahanpur and maximum 1 taka 18 paisa from Rajshahi. Every Saturday, the train will reach Dhaka with goods from 14 stations via Chapainawabganj, Rajshahi. However, on the first day, 150 kg of egg cages were transported even though the agricultural products did not go.
This official claimed that despite the massive campaign, there was no response as expected in the transport of agricultural products by train. However, the authorities are hopeful that a response will be received in the future. Although the farmers say, they do not know the news of this particular train.
According to railway sources, Bangladesh Railway has launched the train named 'Agriculture Special' for the transportation of agricultural products. Through this train, goods can be transported from different parts of the country at very low cost. This special train has a system of refrigerated luggage vans in addition to normal luggage vans - through which perishable products including fish, meat can be transported.

The train will run from Khulna to Dhaka on Tuesday, Panchagarh to Dhaka on Thursday and Rahanpur to Dhaka via Rajshahi on Saturday.
