International Desk: Warning of a "dangerous escalation" in the Middle East region, Lebanon's Hezbollah said Washington bears full responsibility for Israel's "treacherous" campaign against the Islamic Republic of Iran. Hezbollah said this in a statement on Saturday.

"The Islamic Republic strongly condemns the treacherous Zionist aggression against Iran and considers it a dangerous escalation of tensions for the entire region," Hezbollah said in a statement.

It says that the entire responsibility for this genocide, tragedy and suffering caused by Israel rests with the United States.

Meanwhile, Russia warned on Saturday that an "explosive escalation" of hostilities between Iran and Israel risks spiraling out of control, following Israeli bombing of military targets in Iran.

According to AFP from Moscow, Israel warned that if Tehran retaliated against the attack, there would be a 'heavy price to pay.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said she was concerned about the 'ongoing explosive escalation' in the region.

"We call on all parties concerned to exercise restraint, stop violence and prevent all incidents from escalating into catastrophic situations," he said in a statement.

"It is necessary to stop provoking Iran into retaliatory actions and break out of the spiral of uncontrolled escalation," he said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin told a summit of the BRICS group of emerging nations in his country's Kazan that tensions between the two regional heavyweights risked pushing the Middle East into full-scale war.

Putin said, 'The level of conflict between Israel and Iran has increased sharply. This is reminiscent of a chain reaction and has brought the entire Middle East to the brink of full-scale war.'

Iran's Defense Forces said most of the Israeli missiles were destroyed in the air. The number of missiles that hit caused 'very minor damage' in some places.
