Jumbangla Desk: A young man named Shaheen Mia has been arrested by the police in a case filed by the guardian of a young woman on the allegation of rape in Jagannathpur of Sunamganj. Later he was sent to jail. Shaheen was arrested on Sunday and sent to jail through Sunamganj court.

Shahin Mia is a resident of Gandharbpur village in Raniganj Union of Upazila.

According to the source of the case, the accused young Shaheen Mia had been in a relationship with the young woman for a year. Shaheen developed a physical relationship with the young woman on the promise of marriage due to love relationship. Finally, on September 15, accused Shaheen brought the young woman to his house and raped her on the pretext of marriage. The next day, Shaheen ran away without marrying the girl. After receiving the news, the girl's father rescued his daughter from Shaheen's house with the help of local people. In this incident, on September 16, the girl's father filed a rape case at Jagannathpur police station.

Confirming the matter, Jagannathpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mokhleshur Rahman Akand said that Shaheen was absconding since the filing of the case. After the arrest, the accused was sent to jail by the court.
