Jumbangla Desk: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Gulshan Zone Assistant Commissioner (AC) Sohel Rana has been recalled and attached to the police headquarters. It has been alleged that AC Sohail physically assaulted an army major after getting into a verbal argument with him.

On Tuesday (October 29) night, DMP Media Department Deputy Commissioner (DC, Media) Talebur Rahman told SaraBangla, 'Gulshan Zone AC Sohail Rana was attached to DMP. A minor disturbance at Gulshan kept him at headquarters for the time being. He was then attached to the police headquarters tonight (Tuesday).'

However , DC Talebur Rahman avoided the question that AC Sohail was withdrawn and attached to the police headquarters due to any 'minor trouble'.

A police officer of DMP Gulshan zone told Sarabangla on the condition of anonymity that AC Sohel of Gulshan police station had an argument with an army officer of the rank of major in Gulshan on Monday (October 28). At one point, Sohail physically assaulted the major. AC Sohail took the army officer to the police station even after giving his identity.

The police officer of Gulshan zone also said that later the army personnel went to the police station and took away the major. AC Sohail Rana apologized to the Major after the incident. But the end was not saved. AC Sohail was withdrawn and attached to the police headquarters after the video of the rant and apology was circulated.
