Jumbangla Desk: The 5% quota reserved for the grandchildren of brave freedom fighters and martyred freedom fighters has been canceled for admission in public and private schools from the first to the ninth grade. According to the new decision, only 5% quota will be reserved for sons and daughters of brave freedom fighters or martyred freedom fighters. If students are not available in this quota, they will have to be admitted to these seats from the merit list.

This amendment has been brought in the admission policy issued by the Directorate of Secondary Higher Education (MAUSHI) on Monday (October 28).
However, 1 percent for the children of officials and employees of the Ministry of Education and subordinate agencies, 10 percent for former students of government primary schools, 2 percent for students with special needs, and 5 percent for twins and siblings of studying students will get admission in reserved seats.
