This information was confirmed by the Central Digital Commerce Cell of the Ministry of Commerce on Tuesday.

The public notification of the Ministry of Commerce has said that for the information of the e-commerce companies, customers and sellers of the digital commerce sector, digital commerce companies have been asked to submit a complete list of the customers and sellers who owe money to the digital commerce companies by November 14. Requested.

Moreover, customers who have not received the product from the digital commerce company after payment and the sellers have not received the sale price after supplying the product to the digital commerce company , have been advised to file a complaint with the National Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection only through the online portal by November 14.


In this regard, Muhammad Saeed Ali, Deputy Secretary of Central Digital Commerce Cell of the Ministry of Commerce, said, "We have been trying to return the stuck money to the customers for a long time. While some organizations are responding well, others are not cooperating. That is why we have asked creditors to file complaints. A hearing will be conducted on the basis of these complaints and the amount due will be refunded to them as per law.

It is to be noted that if the digital commerce institutions do not submit the list of creditor customers and sellers to them by November 14, the money stuck in the payment gateway will be transferred to the concerned customers according to the 'Digital Commerce Management Guidelines 2021' and Bangladesh Bank's Payment System Department Circular No. 08/2021 Date: 30 June 2021 And phased concessions will be taken in favor of sellers.

Besides, customers and sellers who file complaints with the National Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection, their complaints will be settled through payment gateways or banks to release the seized money.
