Jumbangla Desk: The body of another ASI Mukul, who went missing after jumping from a boat in the attack of miscreants in Kushtia's Kumarkhali, was found in Sujanagar in Pabna.
His body was found floating in the Padma river in Mohanpur area of Sujanagar police station in Pabna, 45 km from the attack site, on Wednesday (October 30) around 7:30 am, 52 hours after he went missing.
Kumarkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nazrul Islam confirmed the matter.
It is known that while trying to catch the accused in a boat in Padma river in Berkaloa area of Kaya union of Kumarkhali upazila on Monday morning, miscreants wearing helmets attacked the police boat and beat them. At that time, ASI Sadrul Alam and Mukul Hossain of Kumarkhali Police Station, who were in the boat, jumped into the river and went missing. Police, fire service, diving team from Khulna were carrying out rescue operations. A diving team recovered the body of ASI Sadrul Alam from Padma River in Shilaidah Ghat area of Kushtia on Monday afternoon.
Kumarkhali police station OC Nazrul Islam said, 'In the morning, local fishermen informed the police after seeing the body floating in the Padma river. Their bodies were recovered and taken to Nazirganj police outpost. Mukul's family identified the body. The body will be brought to Kumarkhali and handed over to the family.
The OC of Kumarkhali police station also said that this whole matter is being investigated along with the police process of body burial .
