That morning they went to the office as usual and completed their official work. They were scheduled to meet with the ACC Reform Commission in the afternoon. But around 1 pm, the commission received the news of the postponement of the meeting of the reform commission. Practically after that they finalized the decision on resignation.

Several senior officers of the ACC said that the chairman and two commissioners left the ACC office quietly after sending their resignation letters.

After their resignation, the formation of a new commission is being discussed. According to ACC, Public Administration and Judicial Service sources, the chairman of the new commission is former army chief General (Retd.) Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan, the secretary of the Prime Minister's Office during the BNP-Jamaat coalition government, AHM Nurul Islam, and a former judge of Dhaka's Special Judge Court-3. Motahar Hossain's name is heard.

Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan became the Army Chief in 2012. He retired as army chief on June 25, 2015. Last July-August, he expressed solidarity with the anti-discrimination student movement and took a stand for them.

AHM Nurul Islam was compulsorily retired on June 3, 2004. Anti-corruption bureau case was also filed against him. According to ACC sources, he saved the documents of the Prime Minister's office in the form of CDs for his personal needs. A case was filed against him. However, the ACC later withdrew the charges against him.


Motahar Hossain on November 17, 2013 announced the verdict of the corruption case related to money laundering against BNP Acting Chairman Tarek Rahman. He acquitted Tariq Rahman in the judgment as no charges were proved. ACC also had an inquiry against Motahar Hossain. was settled later.

Former Director General (DG) of ACC Munir Chowdhury of administration cadre, Moidul Islam of Judicial Service, Amirul Alam of ACC's own manpower, Acting Director General Noor Ahmed, Lieutenant General Chowdhury Hasan Sarwardi are also being discussed for the post of two commissioners. Among them, Munir Chowdhury's house is in Chittagong Division. In addition, the current director general of the commission's special investigation branch Mir Md. Chittagong is also the home of Zainul Abedin Shibli.
