Jumbangla Desk: Passengers had to suffer for 9 hours due to a mechanical fault in an Abu Dhabi-bound Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight.
The incident took place at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Tuesday (October 29) night.
It is known that the flight BG-128 was supposed to leave Dhaka for Abu Dhabi at 9:10 pm on Tuesday. After that, the plane was supposed to come again from Abu Dhabi to Chittagong at 3:30 am. However, another plane arrived in Abu Dhabi at 6am Emirate local time on Wednesday (October 30), nearly nine hours later due to a wing fault before take-off. Later, at 11:15 a.m., the flight took off from Sheikh Zayed International Airport of Emirates with 143 passengers for Chittagong.
According to Anwarul Ferdous, Acting Regional Manager of Biman's Abu Dhabi Station, the Boeing-737-800 model plane had technical complications. Its wing flaps were not working properly. Flight safety is the most important issue in aviation. That is why all systems are checked before take off. If any error is found there, it is corrected and then the beam is released. However, despite long efforts, it was not possible to repair the error of BG-128 flight.
