International Desk: French Ambassador Thierry Mathew's mobile phone was stolen from Delhi's famous Chandni Chowk market. Delhi Police arrested four youths in this incident last week.
According to NDTV, Ambassador Thierry Mathew was going to Chandni Chowk market with his wife on October 20. The theft of Thierry's mobile happened after they were near the Jain temple.
Police said those arrested stole the phone from the French ambassador's pocket. Thierry filed an FIR online with the Delhi Police.
According to the news, on October 21, the police officers came to know about the theft of the mobile phone through the embassy. They then checked the CCTV footage of the Chandni Chowk area and identified the culprits.
The four criminals involved in mobile theft are between 20 and 25 years old . News agency PTI reported that the arrested were residents of Trans-Yamuna area. The police recovered the phone from them and returned it to the ambassador. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
