Marilyn, of Ponterdowie, Neath-Port Talbot, told Sky News that finding the ring was an 'emotional' event.

Marilyn, 76, lost her ring while feeding cows on the family farm in 1970. After that, he searched all over the farm and the house where he went on that day, but he couldn't find the wedding ring.

Marilyn said, 'After I found the ring in the chain of events, I stared at it for a long time. But I gave up hope of the ring after it was lost and I couldn't find it. I decided never to look at it again.'

But identifier Keith Phillips had something else in mind. He used to advise the farm people to dig the land there at different times. According to him, there may be many valuable things underground.

"Phillips would occasionally show us coins and other small items found on the farm," says Marilyn.

Marilyn said, 'One evening as Phillips was leaving the farm, I jokingly told him, 'Listen Phillips, throw away all the rubbish you've found. Go see if you can find my wedding ring.'

Both laughed as they said this. But a week or so later, Phillips showed up with Marilyn's wedding ring.

Marilyn said the ring was buried about eight inches below the ground in the farm field. He cleaned the ring thoroughly with a toothbrush after recovery. The ring has been on his finger ever since.

Marilyn's husband turned 80 last January. But his birthday celebration had to be postponed. Because, after getting the ring, all the festivities are going on around it.
