The press wing of the Chief Adviser says that the government wants to work directly with the World Health Organization or WHO regional director Saima Wazed Putul and for that a letter has been sent to the organization by the government.

Press Secretary Apoorba Jahangir said that the World Health Organization appoints a regional director. You have to contact them by maintaining contact with them first. The government of Bangladesh is asking whether it can speak directly to the World Health Organization without contacting them.

He said that Saima Wazed puppet is a member of the family of the deposed autocratic government and they think it is questionable how much he will come to help Bangladesh now. In response to a question, Shafiqul Alam, press secretary of the Chief Adviser, said at the press conference that this is an issue of ethics.

Apoorba Jahangir said that he has been accused of financial crime and some crimes. His account has been frozen. The BFIU is investigating. There is no question of working through him.

He said they wanted to work directly with the World Health Organization and asked the organization to quickly inform the government of the measures taken in this regard.

Incidentally, Saima Wazed Putul is the daughter of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He is the current Director of the WHO South-East Asia Region with the regional office in New Delhi, India.
