SpaceX made history on October 13. The world's most powerful rocket starship successfully hang-landed that day. This historic achievement by Elon Musk's SpaceX ushered in a new era in space exploration. SpaceX, led by Elon Musk, had been trying to reuse rockets for a long time.
SpaceX's Starship
Earlier, the booster rockets fell into the sea after the rocket launch. It would have cost extra. It was also harmful to the environment. But this is the first time SpaceX's Starship rocket has returned to the launchpad. The launchpad's two robotic arms hold the rocket in place like chopsticks. Then the booster is placed safely in a certain place.
The booster separated from the rocket 2 minutes and 45 seconds after the Flight 5 rocket was launched. About 7 minutes later the booster returned to the Boca Chica region of Texas. On return, the booster is decelerated and slowly moved closer to the landing tower. The landing tower's mechanical arm grips the booster.
This Starship rocket will be used to send people to the moon in 2026. In addition, Elon Musk is planning to travel to Mars. It was quite challenging to put a booster rocket in the sea or make a launchpad to land the rocket on a flat place.
These problems were solved through this achievement. Basically, SpaceX was conducting these tests with the aim of landing safely on Mars or aliens. This was the fifth test of Starship. Tests have been conducted several times before, but this time SpaceX was successful for the first time.
