Canal cleaning program is not a demonstration: Asif Mahmud

Jumbangla Desk: Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Labor and Employment of the Interim Government has commented that this year's canal cleaning program is not showing any people.

 

He made this comment while participating in the canal cleaning program at Khilgaon in the capital on the occasion of National Youth Day on Friday (November 1) morning.

Asif Mahmud said, on the occasion of Youth Day, the government has taken a program to clean 64 canals and reservoirs in 64 districts. This year's program will not show any people.

He also said that an initiative has been taken to plant trees for beautification on both sides of the canal. This campaign will continue for the next 15 days.

Meanwhile, environmental, forest and climate change advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan said that committees will be formed locally to keep each canal and river clean and conserved.
