Jumbangla Desk: The use of bags made of polyethylene and polypropylene is banned in the raw market from today (November 1). Apart from this, operations will also be conducted against polythene manufacturing factories. Syeda Rizwana Hasan, adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, informed about this decision in an exchange meeting organized in the capital on September 24.

He said, we have undertaken various programs so that raw markets do not use polythene bags anymore.

There is nothing new to ban. It has been banned by law since 2002. He said that the use of plastic bags was successfully controlled from 2004-2006. Raids were conducted at various places producing polythene.

But the market was never raided. As a result, the markets brought polyethylene to other places and offered products in polyethylene.

He said that day, from October 1, plastic and polypropylene bags can no longer be used in the supershops of Dhaka. This is not a single decision of the government.

This was decided after talking to the traders of the supershops. Jute, cloth and paper bags will be used as alternatives.

Syeda Rizwana Hasan said, in addition to Supershop, we will start activities to stop the use of polyethylene and polypropylene bags in raw markets from November 1. It is not a negotiation like today, but the law will be enforced. Leaders of the shopkeepers association also promised us that within a month they will start using jute, cloth or paper bags instead of polythene.

He said, to implement the ban on using polyethylene or polypropylene bags, we are going to implement it in supershops from October 1 and raw markets from November 1. At the same time, from November 1, we will start our operations in those who produce polythene. Everyone is getting enough time. We are also working on providing alternatives.

In the Holy Qur'an, the special importance of going to the mosque on Friday is special

From October 1, measures have been taken to stop the use of polythene and polypropylene bags in supershops. Most supershops are now using jute, paper and cloth bags instead of polythene. Products are being given to customers in those bags.
