Own Correspondent, Gazipur: Joint forces have arrested Abdus Sobahan (53), President of Basan Thana Sramik League in Gazipur. There are various charges against him including terrorism, extortion, market and land grabbing, leading vandalism in various factories and murder .
Sramik League leader arrested in joint force operation
He was arrested early on Thursday (October 31) from Bhogra area of the metropolis. Various goods including five ramadas, walkie-talkies, 14 mobile phones and laptops were recovered from his home and office.
Arrested Abdus Sobhan is the son of Mofiz Uddin of Bhogra area of the city and president of Basan Thana Sramik League.
According to the related sources, the members of the joint forces conducted an operation in Bhogra area of the metropolis on the basis of secret information. At that time, he was arrested while trying to escape by jumping from the second floor of the house. Later, based on the information given by him, his house and office were raided and various items including five ramadas, walkie-talkies, 14 mobile phones and laptops were recovered.
Basan Police Station OC Rahedul Islam said that the detained Sobhan has been handed over to the police station. There are various charges against him including terrorism, extortion, market and land grabbing, leading vandalism in various factories and murder. Legal action in this regard is under process.
