Jumbangla Desk: 2 twin brothers died after drowning in Matlab south of Chandpur. Five-year-old children Junaid and Zayed are twin brothers. They were born together but died together.

The incident took place at Dakshin Behari village of the upazila at 12:30 pm on Thursday (October 31).

The deceased Zayed and Junayed are the sons of Sharif Khan, a Qatari resident of that village. They were students of the play group of the local Bahari Shishu Academy School.

Monir Hossain Shamim, the cousin of the two children who died, said that their mother was cooking in the afternoon. After the school vacation, Junaid and Zayed went to bathe in the house pond with others.

After bathing, they return home with everyone. But suddenly Junaid and Zayed went to bathe in the pond again. After that they disappeared. At one point, while searching across the pond, the people of the house saw children's shoes floating in the water.

At that time, the bodies of two children were found frozen in the water. Later, when they were taken to Chandpur General Hospital, doctors declared Junaid and Zayed dead.
