DU students have once again taken up the agitation demanding the cancellation of the affiliation of seven government colleges affiliated to Dhaka University (DU).

At 4 pm on Friday, they started protesting in front of the residence of DU Vice-Chancellor. At this time, the students highlighted the various problems of Dhaka University as it is affiliated to seven colleges.

DU students said, Dhaka University is an autonomous university. Who are the advisory council to decide what will happen in Dhaka University? Where the students of Dhaka University do not have enough residential facilities, separate infrastructure will be built for seven colleges within Dhaka University. We will not accept this so easily. Harassment with students will not be tolerated. Seven colleges should be separated from Dhaka University immediately.

DU students warned of agitation and said that on October 22 we had protested in this VC premises. VC came and assured us. We gave an ultimatum of 72 hours. But what did we see? I saw that there will be seven colleges under Dhaka University! We protest this decision. If our demands are not met, we will be forced to follow a strict program of locking all buildings.

It should be noted that DU students have been demanding cancellation of affiliation of seven colleges for a long time.
