Financial assistance is being given to the families of students who were martyred in the July revolution. 'Julai Shaheed Smriti Foundation' will deliver financial assistance to 200 Shaheed families every week from tomorrow (November 2). Each Shaheed family will get Tk 5 lakh.
Sarjis Alam, member secretary of the foundation, gave this information in a press conference organized at the office of 'Julai Shahid Smriti Foundation' at Shahbag in the capital on Friday.
He said, tomorrow (Saturday) this money will be handed over to the families of the martyrs of Dhaka Division at the Nagar Bhaban Auditorium of Dhaka South City Corporation. All martyr families of Dhaka will not come tomorrow (Saturday). Those who will be given financial assistance tomorrow have been contacted. Support will also be delivered to others periodically every week. It is hoped that the aid will reach all the families by December.
Member Secretary Sarjis Alam said, we will provide assistance to 200 families tomorrow (Saturday). The money will be paid in four installments from morning to afternoon. Financial assistance will be given to 50 families per share. So that no one has to come and sit till afternoon. A team of 20 people is ready for this.
He said, we are working with the first Dhaka division. The number of martyrs in Dhaka is more than two hundred. After giving them, financial assistance will be delivered to eight departments. Each martyr's family will be given five lakh rupees initially.
Apart from this, Sarjis Alam also said that financial assistance of one lakh is being given to the injured. He said that the assistance to the injured is being delivered through development. If the amount is more, it is being paid through bank account. However, if someone needs urgent assistance, contact helpline 16000 and assistance will be provided within three days.
The member secretary of 'Julai Shahid Smriti Foundation' said that there is a plan for the rehabilitation process after this assistance, then we intend to work on the rehabilitation process. A long-term stipend for those who may never return to work is also being considered.
