Such a scene was seen on Friday (November 1) at Bailtali Union Parishad ground in Chandanish Upazila of Chittagong. Three social organizations are jointly selling vegetables at low prices. The three organizations are Suprabhat Bailtali, Youth Foundation Bailtali and Bailtali Chhatra Parishad.
Their aim is to break the market manipulation and syndicates and bring peace to the minds of the common people. Buyers come to the market to buy vegetables in the early morning when the crow calls.
A dozen eggs are being sold at Tk 140 in this market, chillies at Tk 100 per kg, vegetable flour at Tk 12, gourd at Tk 25, shrimp at Tk 40, brinjal at Tk 45 and potato at Tk 52.
Suprabhat Bailatli general secretary Ashek Mirza said we are selling vegetables in market and Bailatli Union Parishad grounds. Only one can break all types of syndicates. We are trying so that everyone can buy products at fair prices. General buyers should also be aware. Those who live in villages can also take small programs if they want. It will benefit the people of the area to some extent. We also want to spread the concept of low-cost cities to villages.
Youth Foundation Bailtali member Tajuddin Sifat said, people's breath. Prices of goods are increasing but salaries and wages are not increasing. So the common people are suffering a lot. Besides, there are big syndicates in the market . Amador's arrangement to break it.
Rakib Mirza, a member of the Bailatli student council, said that we are selling successfully through the joint initiative of three organizations. 2700 eggs and 1000 kg of vegetables and hundred bundles of vegetables were sold in this market in one hour.

Consumer Association of Bangladesh (CAB) Central Committee Vice Chairman SM Najer Hossain said that the initiative taken by the students by dividing into small groups is getting a great response.
