The name of this monument will be 'M10 Memorial'. It is planned to open in 2025 in the tourist area of Puerto Madero. The monument will be able to welcome one million visitors every year, according to its official website.
His daughter Dalma Maradona spoke about the matter recently in a broadcast on YouTube. She said, 'We want our father to be close to people's love and to fulfill the wishes of those who wish to give him flowers.'
Entry to the 1,000 square meter facility will be free for Argentines. However, those who donate to the Maradona Foundation will be able to have their picture placed on the monument's 'wall of heritage'.
Dalma also said that this foundation was formed under his chairmanship. Maradona also has four other children here. He said, this foundation has been established with the purpose of 'paying respect to Maradona and preserving his heritage'.
Earlier this month, the court allowed the transfer of Maradona's remains from the cemetery to a mausoleum, so that locals and tourists can see "the great Argentinian ideal". Maradona died of a heart attack in November 2020 at the age of 60.
