Jumbangla Desk: The interim government has taken various initiatives to reduce the price of agricultural products. As a part of this, special trains were launched to deliver agricultural products to different parts of the country at low cost avoiding extortion. But this train started from Rahanpur in Chapainawabganj has been declared closed from today.

Bangladesh Railway (Western) Chief Commercial Manager Sujit Kumar Biswas confirmed this information to the media on Friday (November 1) night.

He said that after the start of the train, there was no response from farmers or agricultural traders. They are not interested in transporting agricultural products by train. So the train has been stopped.


Railway officials said, on October 26, the 'Krishipanya Special' train started from Rahanpur station in Chapainawabganj. The train was supposed to run on Rahanpur-Dhaka route once a week i.e. every Saturday. But on Friday night, the railway control room informed that the train will no longer run.

Incidentally, the train did not receive any agricultural products from Chapainawabganj and Rajshahi on its first journey last Saturday (October 26). Left for Dhaka empty. On that day, the railway authorities lost 8 lakh 96 thousand 72 taka.
