Jumbangla Desk: Thousands of people have lost electricity in Saint Martin Island of Teknaf Upazila of Cox's Bazar. The islanders suffered greatly.
People in St Martin were left without power from 7pm on Friday (November 1).
Blue-Marine Energy Limited, a power generating company in St. Martin, said that the power outage was caused by a problem in the token recharge software server of the solar projects controlled by Scoob Technology Limited in Bangladesh.
According to a message from Blue-Marine Energy Limited, since last Saturday (October 26), there has been a problem with the token recharge software server of the solar projects controlled by Scoob Technology Limited in Bangladesh. Due to which recharge is not possible. Software programmers from China and Bangladesh are jointly trying to solve the problem. They also expressed regret for this temporary problem.
Abdul Malek, a resident of St. Martin, said, “People from St. Martin are now in the ICU. No electricity since evening. Meanwhile, fishing in the sea is stopped. Tourists are prohibited. Shipping stopped. Only the hospital is closed. All avenues of bread and livelihood are closed.”
Another resident named Jasim Uddin Shubo said, "No light since evening. The whole island is in darkness. No charge on mobile. If this continues, communication with the island will be cut off. To save our lives, we are charging the batteries of various electric devices with diesel-powered generators.”

Another resident named Abdur Rahman said, "The people of the island are in a lot of trouble. No electricity, no income. We are suffocating. We want the cooperation of the people of the country to save the islanders.”
