After being closed for two and a half hours on Daulatdia-Paturia ferry service started

Due to dense fog, the ferry service on the Daulatdia-Paturia route was suspended from 4:45 am, but it was resumed at 7:15 am.

Assistant General Manager (AGM) Mohammad Salahuddin of BIWTC Daulatdia Ghat office confirmed the matter to Jugantar on Sunday morning.

According to the BIWTC and Ghat authorities, thick fog started falling on the Daulatdia-Paturia route from 4:45 am on Sunday, and when the fog increased, the beacon lights and marking points of the ferry channel could not be seen. At this time, the ghat authorities stopped ferry traffic to avoid accidents. After another two and a half hours, the ferry traffic was normalized again when the amount of fog cleared at 7:15 am. During this period of suspension of ferry traffic, ferry barakat is stuck in Yamuna river in Paturia.

Daulatdia No. 4 ferry ghat responsible officer Terminal Superintendent Md. Imdadul Haque said, when the amount of fog in Daulatdia Padma river decreases, we leave the ferry with full load.


Mohammad Salahuddin, assistant general manager of BIWTC's Daulatdia Ghat office, said that after the ferry service was suspended from 4:45 am to 7:15 am on Sunday due to dense fog, the ferry service has been restored. At present, a total of 10 small and large ferries are plying on this waterway.
