Jumbangla Desk: Another 70 Bangladeshis have returned home from war-torn Lebanon. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs gave this information in a press release on Monday (November 4).
It said that 70 more Bangladeshis who were willing to return voluntarily from war-torn Lebanon were repatriated to Bangladesh at full government expense. With this, 338 people have been brought back from the country in seven phases.
They were repatriated with the cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment, Bangladesh Embassy, Beirut, Lebanon and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
These repatriated Bangladeshi citizens were welcomed at Dhaka airport by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment and IOM.
Earlier, 54 people were brought back to the country in the first round on October 21. Then 96 people were brought back to the country in two flights on 23 October, 30 people in the midnight of 28 October, 36 people in the night of 29 October and 52 people were brought back to the country on 31 October.
It should be noted that the International Migration Organization provided five thousand taka pocket money, some food items and basic medical treatment to each person.
