Science and Technology Desk: Scientists have discovered a new planet with a metal core in the Neptunian region of the outer solar system. This planet has a mass of about 60 times that of Earth and is located about 690 light years from the Sun. The shape of the planet is between Neptune and Saturn, but it has a high density of metals at its core. This planet has been identified as the fourth exo-planet in the Neptunian region, where the temperature is extremely high.

An international team led by India's Physical Research Laboratory discovered the planet known as 'TOI-6651b'. The existence of this new planet was detected by the PARAS-2 telescope located at Mount Abu in Rajasthan. According to scientists, this new exoplanet is five times larger than Earth. This information has been reported in a study published in the Journal of Astronomy and Astrophysics.

The planet orbits its central star only once in five days. According to experts, about 87 percent of its composition is solid metal, which is similar to iron. Its outer mantle is rocky and consists of a low-density layer composed of hydrogen and helium. The surface temperature of this new planet is about 1200 degrees Celsius, making it completely unsuitable for humans.

The other three previously discovered exoplanets in this Neptunian region are 12 to 13 times larger than Earth. According to scientists, depending on the climate and temperature of the region, more similar planets are likely to be discovered in the future.
