Jumbangla Desk: The Ministry of Education has published the tuition fee policy of private educational institutions (school-college)-2024. A new subject has been added to the policy. In any private educational institution, if the annual collection in a single sector is more than 10 lakh rupees, a separate bank account should be opened for this sector.
The circular of Tuition Fee Policy-2024 was issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry on Sunday.
According to the circular, this policy will be called the Tuition Fee Policy of Private Educational Institutions (Schools, Schools and Colleges, Higher Secondary Colleges and Higher Secondary Level of Degree Colleges)-2024. It will be effective from the date of issue of the policy. City corporation, metropolis, other areas (ie- district headquarter, municipal area, upazila) will determine the tuition fee for the area under its jurisdiction.
Who will be in the Tuition Fee Determination Committee
The Metropolitan Committee shall have as Chairman- Additional Divisional Commissioner Education and ICT/General and Member Secretary, Regional Deputy Director, Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education. Representative of Member District Commissioner, One Principal of MPO College (Nominated by Education Board), One Principal of Non-MPO College (Nominated by Education Board), One Headmaster of MPO School (Nominated by Education Board) One Headmaster of Non-MPO School (Nominated by Education Board nominated by) and Upazila/Thana Secondary Education Officer.
The committee of the district headquarter municipal area and upazila will have the chairman - the district commissioner, the member secretary will be the district education officer. The members will be one principal of MPO-affiliated college at upazila level (nominated by Education Board), one principal of non-MPO college at municipal level (nominated by Education Board), one head teacher of MPO-affiliated school at upazila level (nominated by Education Board) and non-MPO at upazila level. A Head Teacher of the school (nominated by the Board of Education) and the Upazila/Thana Secondary Education Officer.
The chairman of the concerned education board will inform the chairman of the committee by selecting the representatives of different categories within the month of October.
Scope of work of the Committee—
(a) The Committee shall determine the monthly salary/tuition fee of the MPO/Non-MPO educational institutions of the area covered.
(b) Determine the institution wise tuition fee/monthly salary for the next academic year by 30th November every year.
(c) Provide full fee/half fee where applicable to provide educational opportunities to poor and needy students. The District Education Officer/ Upazila Madhyamik Education Officer will monitor the collection of prescribed monthly salary/tuition fee and inform the concerned Education Board.
(d) The draft proposal for determination of tuition fee by the member secretary will be presented in the meeting of the committee. The final proposal adopted in the committee meeting shall be signed by all the members of the committee.
* The information regarding fixed salary or tuition fee must be displayed on the notice board of the educational institution. Salary/tuition fee statement to be prepared by the member secretary of the committee.
* The monthly salary/tuition fee fixed by the metropolitan and district committee and the brief report signed by the committee president must be confirmed to be sent to the ministry by December 31.

The monthly salary/tuition fee and amount collected in the sectors mentioned in the schedule should be deposited in the scheduled bank as specified. If the annual collection in a single sector is more than 10 lakh rupees, a separate bank account should be opened for this sector. The money collected must be spent sector wise and money from one sector cannot be spent in another sector. All income and expenditure should be done through bank account.
