Jumbangla Desk: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested the shooter Ansar and his accomplice who shot at the students during the anti-discrimination movement in Sylhet. They were arrested from Bara Hazirpur village of Sylhet's Osmaninagar police station at around 2:30 pm on Wednesday (November 6).

The arrested are - Ansar Ahmed Rahul alias Shooter Ansar (30) son of Unai Mia of Syedpur Majortila of Sylhet Metropolitan area and Naeem (32) son of Alamgir Hossain of Majortila's Islampur Colony.

RAB 9 media officer (Senior ASP) Mashihur Rahman Sohail confirmed the matter. He said that on the basis of intelligence information, a raiding team of RAB raided Mustafa Mia's house in Bara Hajipur village of Paschim Pailanpur Union of Osmaninagar Upazila around 2.30 pm on Wednesday and arrested them. There is a case of violence (FIR No-15/212 of Sylhet Shahparan Police Station) against them. These two people fired at the students' movement . These two are accused in the case filed on August 28 on these charges.

After the arrest, Ansar and Naeem were handed over to Shahparan police station. Apart from this, RAB-9 has continued its intelligence activities and operations to arrest the absconding accused in this case.
