Jumbangla Desk: Acting Chairman of BNP Tarek Rahman said that November 7 is a historical and unforgettable day of national life. On this day in 1975, the sepoys came down on the streets with an unprecedented pledge to protect national independence and revive the lost democracy. Therefore, the historical revolution of November 7 is very significant.
He said, only to perpetuate their power, anti-democratic activities started. That is why democracy is killed by forming a party tycoon by suffocating people's freedom of speech and expression. A brutal one-party rule began. A dark shadow of unrest and despair descends on the country.
He made this comment in a statement signed by BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Wednesday (November 6).
Tariq Rahman said, gain the trust and confidence of the people. BNP will win if the people of the country get a chance to vote. It is good to be confident about that but not overconfident.
He also said that it should be ensured that citizens will be represented by direct voting. People's court and state court should be coordinated then no political party need to be banned, people will take their decision. That decision will be in the people's court. Such political reforms are necessary.
In another press conference, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, freedom from fascism has been achieved but we have to move forward cautiously. I hope Dr. Yunus will arrange for immediate elections. We need to bring back democracy with November 7 in front.
He also said that there is a conspiracy to fail the interim government. And after a day, three months of the government will be completed. This is not a long time for a government but due to rising commodity prices three months are three years for many. It is very important to control the prices of commodities.
