Jumbangla Desk: Jagannath University Branch Islami Chhatra Shibir has demanded zero tolerance policy against drugs on campus and introduction of dope test for university admission.
The leaders of the organization made this demand in the exchange meeting of the student organization with the committee formed to solve the issues related to the students of the university in the meeting room of the vice-chancellor of Jagannath University on Sunday (November 3).
Asadul Islam, Secretary General of the University Branch Student Camp, said that students should be ensured safety and facilities on the campus. Zero tolerance policy against drugs should be adopted. Drugs destroy a nation. In this case, dope test should be arranged at the time of admission.
He also said that the appointment of teachers and staff should be stopped on party and political recommendations and priority should be given to the students of their own campus.
At this time, he demanded to stop all online classes and arrange rating system for class and teacher evaluation of the department.
Iqbal Hossain Sikder, president of the university branch student camp, said in the exchange meeting that there should be some barriers in the practice of student politics in the university campus. Failure to do so may lead to the behavior of past autocracies.
At that time, the members of the committee formed to solve the issues related to the students of the university, the university's student body, student camp, student front, representatives of the anti-discrimination student movement, university reform representatives and the teachers of the committee were present.
