International Desk: 30 people were killed in the terrible attack of Israel in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. The attack was carried out by the Israeli military in an apartment building in the southern part of the city. In addition, another 40 people were killed in the Israeli attack in the eastern Baalbek and Bekaa areas.

The British media BBC reported this information in a report on Thursday (November 7).

Emergency workers recovered the bodies of 30 people killed in an Israeli airstrike on an apartment building south of Beirut, Lebanon's Civil Defense Agency said. One side of the four-storey building was destroyed in the attack on Tuesday evening.

The Israeli military said it struck a "terrorist infrastructure" belonging to the Shiite militant group Hezbollah. Another 40 people were killed in Israeli strikes around the eastern Baalbek and Bekaa governorates on Wednesday, Lebanon's health ministry said.

Lebanon's culture minister also said the Israeli attack also severely damaged an Ottoman-era building near the Roman ruins of the UNESCO World Heritage Site town of Baalbek.

An Israeli military official said the attack in the Baalbek area targeted Hezbollah members.

Baalbek-Harmel province governor Bachir Khodar said on his X account that Israeli warplanes carried out 20 airstrikes in Baalbek on Wednesday. State news agency NNA reported that efforts were still underway to find survivors under the rubble of the building destroyed in the attack.

Since September 23, Israel has been carrying out extensive airstrikes in the capital Beirut as well as throughout Lebanon. The Israeli military claims that the strikes are targeting operatives, infrastructure and arsenals of the armed group Hezbollah.

According to Lebanese health authorities, at least 3,500 people have been killed and nearly 14,000 injured in Israeli attacks since October last year.

Israel launched massive airstrikes in Lebanon in late September against what it claims are targets of Hezbollah, fueled by a year-long cross-border war between Israel and Lebanese groups since the start of Israel's brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip.

In response, Hezbollah is also striking back. The powerful armed group claimed the killing of 70 Israeli soldiers who were operating in Lebanon last week. In addition, an Israeli was killed by a rocket fired by Hezbollah fighters from Lebanon near a kibbutz in northern Israel, paramedics said.
