Jumbangla Desk: The court granted 6-day remand to Awami League advisory council member and former minister Amir Hossain Amur on the charge of shooting and killing businessman Abdul Wadud in Newmarket police station area of the capital during the anti-discrimination student movement.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court Judge Shahin Reza Amur granted a six-day remand on Thursday (November 7).
Earlier in the morning, the senior Awami League leader was brought to the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court by the police. After that, the investigating officer of the case applied for 10 days remand of DB Police Inspector Jahangir.
On the other hand, Amu's lawyer filed a bail application seeking cancellation of the remand. After the hearing of both parties, the judge granted a six-day remand.
Earlier on Wednesday (November 6) Amu was arrested from Dhanmondi area of the capital by Dhaka Metropolitan Detective (DB) Police.

Businessman Abdul Wadud was shot dead by police in Neelkhet area under Newmarket police station during the anti-discrimination student movement. In this incident, his brother-in-law Abdur Rob filed a murder case at Newmarket police station. 130 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader were accused in the case.
