Saiful Islam, Manikganj: The executive magistrate of the district administration conducted a mobile court in the private hospital in Manikganj on the charges of lack of valid documents and various irregularities. Executive Magistrate Rikta Khatun praised the operation of 'Manikganj Children and General Hospital' without taking proper action against the hospital.

Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Rikta Khatun led the mobile court which was conducted on Wednesday afternoon.

Earlier, due to lack of environmental clearance and fire license of Manikganj Children and General Hospital, an application for renewal of the license of the hospital was put on hold by the Directorate of Health. In the past, news was published against the hospital due to the admission of additional patients with the permission of 20 beds and lack of valid documents. After that, the district administration took the initiative to take action against the irregularity of the hospital by conducting the mobile court on behalf of the district administration.

The operation conducted on Wednesday afternoon highlighted the lack of environmental clearance and fire license of the hospital, emphasizing on doctors, nurses, manpower and waste management. Environmental issues and public and patient safety are neglected. On the other hand, the district environment directorate and civil surgeon's office had earlier sent notices to the hospital for renewal of documents.

Although the district environment department, fire service office and civil surgeon office confirmed that the hospital does not have valid documents, Executive Magistrate Rikta Khatun was heard saying to the hospital authorities during the raid that such a hospital is very important in a district like Manikganj. It is clean and has a very good environment. There are enough doctors, nurses and other equipment. There are some minor errors. Please solve them quickly. I will keep it in follow up.

The hospital was fined only 5 thousand rupees under Section 53 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act citing minor irregularities in the operation, excluding the fact that the hospital did not have additional patients, environmental clearance and fire license. At this time, the existing errors are alerted to be corrected.

Executive Magistrate Rikta Khatun refused to comment to reporters on the matter.
