Jumbangla Desk: Two thieves stole 93 thousand rupees from an old customer who came to get service at Sonali Bank in Gaibandha. Thieves stole the money inside the bank in the afternoon. The theft happened at Sonali Bank Main Branch in Gaibandha on Wednesday (October 6).

In the closed circuit (CC) camera footage of the bank, an old man at counter number one inside the bank takes out money and puts it on the table in front of the glass to deposit money. At that time, two men wearing shirts and pants were walking around beside him. One of them had a file in his hand. Later, one of the two people took a chance and dropped a 10 rupee note from his pocket on the floor and pushed it to the feet of the old man with the money and told the old man that he had lost the money. When the old man bent down to pick up money from the floor, the two thieves ran away with the 93,000 rupees kept on the table in front of the counter. Later, when they told the matter to the bank concerned, they informed the police.
Sonali Bank Gaibandha Branch Assistant Manager Shafiqul Islam confirmed the truth of the incident and said that it is sad. Customers should be careful as well. We also need to be more careful.
He further said, immediately we informed the police. They came and took the video footage.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gaibandha Sadar Police Station Shahinur Islam said on mobile phone that a police officer has been sent to the bank. In the video footage, it was seen that the money was stolen from the front of the cash counter inside the bank. We are working to catch the thieves along with investigation. The video has been sent to several places.
