The incident took place in Dhaka's Metropolitan Magistrate Shaheen Raza's court on Thursday (November 7) morning.

Public Prosecutor (PP) Omar Farooq Farooqui of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court spoke in favor of Amur's remand in the remand hearing. At that time, Swapan Roychowdhury, the lawyer of accused Amu, commented that his speech was political. Then the other lawyers present in the court got excited and started beating him. He was kicked when he fell in front of the door of the court during the beating incident. Then some lawyers picked Swapan Roy out of the court.

In this regard, the victim lawyer Swapan Roychowdhury said, I was beaten and thrown out during the hearing in the court. But the court did not take any action. There is no justice here. I want justice.

Earlier, during the remand hearing, PP Omar Farooq Farooqui said that Sheikh Hasina's father was misled by Amu. Sheikh Hasina has been led astray in the same way. He established Sheikh Hasina as a fascist. Amu held a meeting with 14 teams. They decided to suppress the anti-discrimination student movement at any cost. They are involved in this genocide. We want no Sheikh Hasina or fascist to be created in Bangladesh. We want democratic Bangladesh. If they are tried, no more fascist party will come to this country.

After the uproar of the lawyers, Amir Hossain Amu said to them, lawyers should be brothers and sisters. But the current environment will not last forever. At this time, pro-BNP lawyers became excited again. Later, the situation calmed down with the intervention of Public Prosecutor Omar Farooq Farooqui.


Meanwhile, the court sent Awami League advisory council member and former minister Amir Hossain Amu to six-day remand in the case of murder of businessman Abdul Wadud in Newmarket area of ​​the capital.

Police Inspector Jahangir Arif of DB Police's Ramna Zonal Team applied for his 10-day remand in the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate's Court on Thursday (November 7).

On the other hand, the lawyers of the accused applied for cancellation of remand and bail. After the hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court granted remand.

According to the complaint of the case, businessman Abdul Wadud was shot dead by the police in Neelkhet area under Newmarket police station on the afternoon of July 19 during the anti-discrimination student movement. In this incident, his brother-in-law Abdur Rahman filed a murder case against 130 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader.

 

Earlier, Amu was arrested from Dhanmondi area of ​​the capital on Wednesday (November 6).

Amir Hossain Amu is a former Member of Parliament from Jhalkathi-2 Constituency. In 2013, he was appointed Minister of Lands and Disaster Management and Relief. Amir Hossain Amu was elected a Member of Parliament in the 2014 National Parliament Elections and got the job of Industry Minister.
