A ban has been imposed on pasting posters in a hall of Dhaka University (DU). The ban is believed to have been given in the context of student protests on the campus against the posting of posters by BNP's student body Chhatra Dal.
It is known that on Wednesday night, the hall administration has banned any kind of posters on the wall or around the hall of Martyr Sergeant Zahurul Haque.
In a notice from the hall administration, it is said, 'In order to maintain the overall beauty of the hall, no banners, festoons, posters and wall writing can be placed inside the hall or on the walls of the hall premises without the permission of the hall administration. If anyone violates this order, the authorities will take strict action as per the rules of the university and prevailing laws. Everyone's cooperation is highly desirable in this regard.'
Meanwhile, a group of students protested on the campus against the posting of posters in DU. Students of different halls started this protest in front of the residence of the vice-chancellor around 10 o'clock on Wednesday night.
It is known that these posters were put up by the Dhaka University Chhatra Dal on the occasion of BNP's National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
Students first staged a protest in front of the VC's residence, then toured various halls and took a stand at the foot of the Raju sculpture. After staying there for a while, they returned to the hall around 12 midnight.
In the procession, various slogans like 'Two zero to four, student politics no more', 'Posters on the wall, grief is on the forehead', 'Abu Saeed-Mugdh, the war is not over', 'The address of student politics will not be on this campus' were given.
