On Thursday, the damage occurred in the jute warehouse rented by Nurul Amin Radi in Katpatti lane of Jangal Bazar in Dasher upazila. It is being claimed by the businessman that there has been a loss of around two and a half crore rupees.

 

Eyewitnesses and locals said that a fire broke out in the jute warehouse of Abu Bakr Dakua around 1 pm. Instantly the fire spread all around. Local people tried to put out the fire. After receiving the information, a fire service unit went to the spot and brought the fire under control after two hours. However, it took another two and a half hours to completely extinguish the fire.


Maqbul Dhali, Ripon Bepari, Abdul Rari, Farooq Bayati, Deen Islam Motaleb, Shamchus, along with Abu Bakr Daqua, the owner of the warehouse, said that in all we had 3 thousand maunds of jute in our 15 warehouses. Of this, about 2,700 maunds worth 1 crore 80 lakh taka were burnt and 1500 maunds of mustard, chilli, soybeans were burnt to ashes; The price of which is 70 lakh rupees. I don't know how the fire started at noon.


Acting in-charge of Gosairhat Fire Service, Milton said, after receiving information about the fire at around 1 pm, he reached the spot and brought the fire under control after two hours of effort. The cause of the fire and the amount of damage will be reported subject to investigation.


Shariatpur District Commissioner Mohammad Ashraf Uddin visited the spot. He spoke to the victims. He said that Dasher Jangal Bazaar is a big market in the district. Necessary measures will be taken regarding the overall security of traders here.
