Chhatra Dal leader Jannatul Naureen Urmi has accused Barisal University (BOB) of brutal torture against the leaders and workers of Chhatra League. He claimed that this torture happened during the Awami regime due to political revenge.

This press conference was held at Barisal Reporters Unity on Thursday afternoon. Urmi alleged that the leaders and workers of Bobby Chhatra Dal were spreading false information against her (Urmi) recently without cooperating after the torture.

The victim Urmi Bobby is a 2015-16 academic year student of Maths department and joint general secretary of Central Chhatra Dal.

In a written statement, Urmi said, on March 1, 2020, Bobby students and Chhatra League leaders Alim Saleheen, Ariful Islam, Abdullah Feroz, Hafiz and Asaduzzaman Asad attacked me. During the attack, they injured my chest and neck with a compass cut from a geometry box. During the regime of Awami League, I did not even seek justice for this incident. Even along with regular studies, the university administration and department did not allow the examination. The then President of Bobby's Chhatra Dal Reza and General Secretary Hasib did not take any role on my behalf.

Urmi said, "In the meantime, a written complaint signed by more than a hundred students has been given to Bobby Vice-Chancellor against me on Wednesday." It has accused me of creating an unstable environment in the campus with the terrorist workers of the banned organization (Chhatra League). However, I was subjected to being tortured by the leaders and activists of the Chhatra League and deprived of education from life. Later I came to know that the public signatures were taken by misinforming the Bobby students.c
