Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, people's lives are sacred deposits to us. We have always behaved responsibly in the interests of the country and nation. But we are the most oppressed political party in this country. Our party has been banned twice since independence. We have always done clean politics. Still we got banned. It proves, 'hot rice is a cat badger'.
He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting organized by Dhaka Metropolitan North Jamaat-e-Islami on the occasion of National Revolution and Solidarity Day at Al Falah Auditorium in Moghbazar of the capital on Thursday.
Jamaat Ameer said that depending on Allah, the combination of the experience of the elders and the talent of the youth will move the country forward. Where not a single youth will remain unemployed. No need to search for mama or khalu. There will be no question of party loyalty. He belongs to any party or religion. We want to build that society based on merit.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, we have been lost from the pages of history at various times. 1975 was an important year for the nation. On June 5, 1975, in just five minutes, multi-party democracy was abolished in the National Parliament and one-party tyranny was established. Then there were 19 districts 19 districts 19 governor names were finalised. If this system was established, the people of Bangladesh would not have any freedom of speech and freedom of vote.
Claiming that Jamaat-e-Islami as a responsible organization has always tried to behave responsibly in independent Bangladesh, Jamaat Amir said, but we are the victims of oppression. Jamaat is the only organization banned by Awami League in independent Bangladesh. What is our crime? Have we seized land, extortion, mother and sister's honor? Have we smuggled the country's wealth abroad? Do you nurture gangs? Have we joined hands with alcohol and drugs, why should it be banned from time to time even if it is not involved in any social crime. The main reason for this is hot rice.
He said, those who do not have transparency in politics, whose patriotism is questionable, who cheat and betray by talking about patriotism, do not like the transparent politics of the country. We have never heard the slogan of exterminating any party or people, nor will you ever hear. To fulfill the desire of the sepoys of November 7, we need to build a state structure where every citizen feels dignified. Man or woman Hindu or Buddhist or Christian or Muslim he will believe this is my beloved Bangladesh. Not only enjoyment but also sacrifice.
