Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) report has revealed this information. The agency released the report on Thursday.

According to BBS, food inflation has increased due to the increase in prices of rice, pulses, oil, salt, fish, meat, vegetables, spices and tobacco. This has had a negative impact on headline inflation. Meanwhile, ordinary buyers are in dire straits when they go to the market. They are not able to buy the necessary things with the income they earn. Having to buy half or less of daily necessities and return home. The lifestyle of low and middle income people has been disrupted. The standard of living has gone down. Experts believe that the level of consumption of necessary nutritious food is also decreasing.

According to the report, overall price inflation in villages increased by 11.26 percent in October, which was 10.15 percent in September. In this month, the price inflation of food products increased to 12.75 percent, which was 10.38 percent in the previous month. Apart from this, the inflation of non-food products decreased slightly to 9.76 percent, which was 9.91 percent in September.


Meanwhile, overall price inflation in the city rose to 10.44 percent in October, which was 9.83 percent in September. Food inflation rose to 12.53 percent from 10.50 percent in the previous month. Apart from this, the price inflation of non-food products decreased slightly to 9.06 percent, which was 9.38 percent in September.

According to sources, the student movement was going on throughout the month of July demanding reform of the quota system in government jobs. Later it turned into a student uprising. The wage rate increased to 8.07 percent this month, which was 8.01 percent in September. Wages in agriculture rose 8.32 percent in October, up from 8.28 percent in the previous month. The wage rate in industry increased by 7.69 percent, which was 7.61 percent in the previous month. Apart from this, the wage rate in the service sector increased slightly to 8.37 percent, which was 8.29 percent in September.
