BNP National Standing Committee Member Salah Uddin Ahmed said that Sheikh Hasina and her friends are continuing to conspire abroad to destabilize the country. Associated with it are the friends of the fascists who have been killed in various places inside the country. So the struggle must continue until a political government is established through a free and fair election.
He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at a short rally organized by Sylhet District and Metropolitan BNP at the Sylhet Registry Ground on the occasion of the historic National Revolution and Solidarity Day on Thursday.
Salah Uddin Ahmed said, I did not get freedom to become someone's tyranny. Unprotected freedom equals subjugation.
He said, the fascists now want to unite with BNP to rescue democracy. It is not possible. Because democracy does not fit with Awami League. They killed democracy in the past too by setting up bakshals. They were always against democracy. Those who were involved in genocide, even if they escaped, they will be brought to the country and tried for genocide. They shot and killed people from helicopters. So fascism has no right to do politics in this country. Until a political government is established in the country, the democratic struggle will continue.
Sylhet District BNP President Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury and Sylhet District BNP General Secretary Advocate Emran Ahmad Chowdhury and Metropolitan BNP General Secretary Imdad Hossain Chowdhury jointly conducted the welcoming speech at the beginning of Sylhet Metropolitan BNP Acting President and former Panel Mayor Rezaul Hasan Qais Lodi. In the speech of the special guest, Advisor to the Chairperson Ariful Haque Chowdhury said that Martyr President Ziaur Rahman worked unitedly for the needs of the country, and the future statesman Tariq Rahman is giving the leadership in the transition period of the country. Everyone has to work unitedly to build the state of the future.
At the end of the rally, a colorful rally went round the main main road of the city and ended at the Shaheed Minar. Tens of thousands of party leaders participated in the rally with placards bearing pictures of BNP founder Shahid President Ziaur Rahman, BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and Acting Chairman Desnayak Tariq Rahman.
Earlier, the leaders and activists of BNP and allied organizations started gathering at the registry ground in a piecemeal procession from noon to participate in the rally of the Revolution and Solidarity Day.
