Lifestyle Desk: Islam does not have a history of oppressing anyone because of religion, rather people of all religions are guaranteed security in an Islamic state. The rights of all minorities were guaranteed in the state established by the Prophet of Allah (PBUH) in Madinah. About the rights of minorities and non-Muslims, Allah Almighty said: "Allah has not forbidden to show magnanimity and justice to those (non-Muslims) who did not fight you (non-Muslims) in religion and did not expel you from your own land." (Surah: Mumtahina, verse: 8)

If we look at the words of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) regarding non-Muslims, we see a remarkable picture. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said: 'Whoever kills a person who is promised security, he will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise.' (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 7914)
At no point in the history of Islam did Muslims attack non-Muslim minorities and kill them indiscriminately. With few exceptions (frontal combat or conflict) Muslim commanders or heads of state did not order massacres of non-Muslims, rather the Holy Prophet (SAW) forbade attacking non-Muslims and their places of worship even during war. (Musannaf Abdur Razzaq, Hadith: 9430)
But we see the opposite picture regarding the Muslim minority people. No one who has a sufficient knowledge of history can deny that the Church of Christ was neutral; Rather, no other institution in the history of mankind has shed as much innocent blood as the clergy of the Church. Men and women who disobeyed the Church or expressed interest in another religion, the Church showed extreme cruelty to them. In 1521 Charles V issued orders for the execution and confiscation of property of dissenters.
The punishment for refusing to convert to orthodox Christianity was burning, hanging, having the tongue torn out, or twisting.
In England, Protestants used imprisonment, stigmatization, mutilation, and whipping to suppress dissenters. In Scotland, dissidents were labeled as criminals and their ears were ripped off. Burning iron was thrown on them. Their fingers are cut into pieces. Foot bones are crushed by boots.
Women were taken through the streets to be publicly flogged. Catholics were persecuted and executed. All Christians had the same attitude. Muslims and Jews were unacceptable to Christendom. Jews were persecuted and hanged in England. Muslims were burned in Spain. Marriages between Christians and Jews were legally abolished.
The non-Muslim thinker Bertrand Russell, author of 'The West's Tributes to Islam', compared the attitudes of Christianity and Islam towards minorities (especially Muslims) saying, 'Christianity acquired its distinctiveness from other religions in preparation for its persecution. Muslim caliphs were much kinder to Jews and Christians than Christian governments were to Jews and Muslims. During the reign of the Caliphs, Jews and Christians were spared persecution if they paid the jizya. From the moment the Roman emperors converted to Christianity, Christianity has preached anti-Semitism. The religious frenzy of the Crusades resulted in organized (community-specific) killing and plundering in Western Europe. The statement that 'Christianity brought moral standards' is possible only by completely ignoring or falsifying the historical evidence.
Another non-Muslim scholar, Smith, compares the activities of the Christian Crusaders with the conquest of Jerusalem by Umar (RA), stating that Jerusalem surrendered to Umar (RA) conditionally. He was the second caliph of the Muslim world. A long siege took place in 637. During the siege no Christian property was destroyed except for unavoidable damage. Not a single drop of blood was shed that day except on the battlefield. Umar (ra) entered the city with the chief priest. At that time the Khalifa was having an intimate conversation with him. When it was time for prayer, the priest invited him to pray at the Church of Holy Sepulchre. But Umar did not agree to it. He feared that later Muslims might claim similar rights. Residents may have their freedom of worship curtailed under the terms of the capitulation agreement. But after some time the holy city fell again to the Crusaders. The city was recaptured in 1099. After that for three days the Christians killed women, men and children indiscriminately. Then 70,000 Muslims were killed by the sword, of which 10,000 were killed in the mosque of Omar (RA).
Comparing the attitudes of Muslims towards non-Muslim minorities and the attitudes of non-Muslims towards Muslim minorities, famous Egyptian philosopher and Islamic thinker Sayyed Muhammad Qutb wrote that the Inquisitorial Court established by the Christian Church was mainly set up to completely exterminate the Muslims of Spain. These courts tortured Muslims in a way never seen before. People were burned alive. Their nails are produced.
Their eyes were gouged out and their hands and feet were amputated. These tortures are done to force people to change their religion and accept Christianity. The massacre was carried out with the aim of completely destroying the Muslims of the European countries Yugoslavia, Albania, Russia or the countries under the European rule such as North Africa, Somalia, Kenya, Zanzibar or other countries, India and Malaya.
Sometimes these destructions are done on the pretext of killing evil spirits, sometimes on the pretext of maintaining peace and security. Even today, the treatment of non-Muslim minorities in Muslim countries is far better than the treatment of Muslim or other minorities in most non-Muslim countries. Muslim minorities are still systematically persecuted in India. Such behavior is being done with Muslim minorities in countries like Israel occupied Arab land, Ethiopia, Philippines, Myanmar etc. Muslims are being subjected to persecution, terrorism, brutality, brutality and state oppression everywhere. But the rules of Islam and the views and sense of responsibility of Muslims are completely different. As a result, this human beauty of Islam fascinates people even today. Even today, the victory of Islam is advancing at an unstoppable speed in the countries of the world.
