Recently, it was being said by the Indian media that India will not step in Pakistan to participate in the Champions Trophy. On the contrary, India will play their matches in UAE instead of Pakistan. In other words, Pakistan will have to play in a hybrid model like the last Asia Cup.
Now Pakistan is denying the Indian media's claim. PCB sources say, 'No hybrid model is being considered.'
PCB reiterated its commitment to host the tournament exclusively on Pakistani soil. Also actively upgrading the venue to meet international standards.
Meanwhile, an ICC delegation will visit Lahore on November 10-12 to assess Pakistan's preparations for the tournament. After that, if everything goes well, the Champions Trophy schedule can be decided on November 11.
As per the proposed group for the tournament, the group consists of Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and New Zealand. Group B includes England, South Africa, Australia and Afghanistan. Which is scheduled to be held from February 19 to March 9 at three venues in Pakistan.
